Restoration and structural strengthening. Project and construction management
location: Canossa (RE)
client: San Biagio Parish in Canossa
year: 2014

San Biagio Church is located at the foot of the eastern foothills of the Canossa rocky hill, therefore it is considered one of the castles of Canossa and Rossena, and it also belongs to the group of castles called “Matildici”. The building was founded in the late Middle Ages. The church has a single nave with two side chapels, semicircular apse and barrel roof. Due to the complexity of the project and the specificity of the building, the restoration and strengthening works are carried out in two different phases: phase one, the most needed, includes completing the underpinning works, strengthening the structure of the entire building and replacing the roof, while phase two includes restoration works, finishes renovation and system adjustments involving low-impact solutions.
