Dating from around 1300, the fortress is comprised of a high square tower, today property of the Municipality of Viano, and what was once the nobleman’s mansion with a round tower on the east side. Between these two constructions is located the village, a linear system of terraced buildings. The escarpment surrounding the entire fortress, when reaching the northern side evolves in a rampart whose walls embeds the houses of the village. The project involves restoration and structural strengthening of buildings and their adaptation for accommodation and holiday farm purposes.
