The project of this private residence, located in the old town of Reggio Emilia, aims to merge
the two existing housing units in a single residence, preserving the main features of the building formal structure:
from the volumes arrangement to the original layout, enhancing both unity and value of the severely damaged building typology. The project layout ultimately observes the existing formal balance: the ground floor presents a horizontally partitioned moulding, simple and linear window frames, ultimately following the local building tradition examples. The restoration works not only strengthen and redevelop the architecture, but also upgrade the energy system of the entire building.
